Stainless Steel Threaded Nut for Automotive Industry

At Gent Machine, we are capable of producing high volume precision machined components for customers in a wide range of industries. The 303 stainless steel threaded nut pictured here was produced for a customer in the automotive industry. The machined nut has rolled interior threads and is drilled to customer specifications. This is a high volume part which makes it an ideal candidate for our Davenport multi-spindle screw machines. Davenport screw machines are capable of unrivaled cycle times and are the most efficient pieces of equipment available for producing high volume, small diameter components. These nuts measure 0.5156 in diameter, and are machined to tolerance as tight as ±0.003 in as indicated on the customer provided drawings. The parts are sorted using a vision system to reject any nuts that fall out of spec for length, width, or the presence of burrs on the inner diameter. In addition, multiple in-process checks, daily final inspection are performed to verify the quality of the parts. We have produced 450,000 of these components with an average turnaround time of six weeks per order.
