Overmolding Services

At Connective Design, Inc., we offer overmolding services for prototype and low to high volume production solid profiles and over molding of soft to hard strip rubber 20A-80A in many types of material classifications including Neoprene, EPDM, silicone, and chloroprene. We offer multiple choices of color such as black, white, yellow, and red. We mold o-rings, gaskets, grommets, inserts, and other custom rubber and molded parts, as well as overmolding on cables and components. We can also design and manufacture tooling for these products. We can offer economical aluminum molds to high use hardened steel molds. We use in-house Maplan injection molding machines and can mold solid parts up to .050 to 4 in. round by 18 in. in length. Our overmolding can go larger, depending on the core size, to approximately 6 to 8 in. round. As far as tolerances, we can easily hold +/- .010” and offer surface finishes from dull to extra shiny.Our products can be made in various styles, cavity or wire sizes, class and usage based on customer requirements. We also offer additional services such as CAD design, kitting, special packaging, inspection, documentation, traceability, testing, inventory management and Just-In-Time (JIT) shipping. Lead times are quoted on job-by-job basis with them usually being 4-6 weeks.
