Structural foam molding is a unique process that is engineered to deliver maximum value for large scale designs. At Miles Manufactured Products, our use of structural foam molding has allowed us to develop a portfolio of work that includes customers across North America.Structural foam molding is a low pressure, gas assisted process. With the use of materials such as ABS, polyethylene, polypropylene, and styrene, it is ideally suited for plastic molded housings, pallets, tanks, containers, flooring, dunnage, utility carts, truck shelving systems and much more. Our facility is equipped with multi-nozzle Uniloy Milacron structural foam molding systems, which represent the leading edge of low-pressure foam molding technology. This system gives us a distinct advantage; for large parts, or multiple part programs. We produce molded products with a cellular core and robust solid plastic walls. With gas assist we can produce surface finishes that exhibit no swirling and smoothness that is on par with high-pressure injection molding. In addition to a superior strength to weight ratio, the use of lower pressure, means that molds can be constructed from aluminum, which is much easier to machine and far less expensive than standard tool steels. With shot sizes of up to 200 lbs., and the ability to manufacture in volumes that range from short runs to high volume blanket orders, we have been able to accommodate the needs of a broad range of industries and applications. All of our work is made in the USA, and adheres to our own stringent quality guidelines, which is augmented by our ISO 9001:2008 certification. For more information about the benefits of structural foam molding, see the table below or contact us directly.

| Molding Process | Gas Assisted:Gas Assisted Injection Molding is a process where nitrogen gas is injected, during the molding cycle, either through the sprue or directly into the mold tool. At a controlled high pressure this has the benefit of overcoming sink marks or introducing a cavity without the requirement of a core.Structural Foam Molding |
