About Product
At AMECO USA we provide high quality welding services for customers in the aerospace, heat treating, power generation, construction and heavy equipment industries. We offer contract welding and production capabilities of small and large parts, expertly employing free hand welding, CNC welding and robotic welding operations. A range of materials are processed including stainless steel, aluminum, copper, cast iron, exotic alloys and titanium. Our vast welding expertise incorporates specialized knowledge of all arc and resistance welding processes including GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), submerged arc welding, and flux core arc welding. Other methods we utilize include flash, flood, seam, orbital, plasma, spray, spot, and projection welding processes. We are able to determine the best procedures to utilize for the efficient fulfillment of customer requirements. Welding is ideal for applications such as joining dissimilar metals, boiler fabrication, seam welded tube, tubular frame assemblies, hardfacing, narrow groove welding, precision assembly, and strip welding.Welding work takes place at our 50,000 sq. ft. facility. All welding is performed in conformance with the highest industry standards, with workmanship verified by testing and inspection procedures. Value added ancillary services include research and development, engineering, assemblies, and prototyping. For more details about our welding services, or the other manufacturing capabilities available please see the table below or contact us directly.

| Arc/Resistance Welding Process | GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding): Also known as Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding. This process uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode, an inert gas and a separate filler material. This process is sometimes mistakenly referred to as Heliarc welding.FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding): This process uses similar equipment as GMAW but in place of standard solid wire uses wire consisting of a steel electrode surrounding a powder fill material.Flash: Flash welding is a form of resistance butt welding. This process is used to weld wide, thin, irregular faced surfaces and to join tubing to tubing.Flood: Flood welding is a process used for depositing large amounts of weld material.GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding): Also known as metal inert gas or MIG welding.MIG: Metal Inert Gas welding, also referred to as Gas Metal Arc Welding.Orbital: Also known as Tube Arc Welding, this process is used for the circumferential welding of tubes, pipes and round stock.Plasma: Plasma arc welding uses a tungsten electrode combined with plasma gas to make the arc.Projection: Projection welding uses a solid projection in the material to concentrate the current flow at a contact point which results in lower currents, forces and process times than spot welding.Resistance: Resistance welding is a process where heat is generated by passing current through the resistance caused by the contact between two or more metal surfaces to be joined.Seam: Seam welding uses two wheel shaped electrodes to apply pressure and current to join the workpieces. This makes it possible to make long continuous welds along the "Seam" of the two sheets being joined.SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding): Also known as Manual Metal Arc Welding or Stick welding. This process uses a consumable electrode rod, which as the filler material, that is covered in flux that protects the weld area from oxidation and contamination.Spot: Spot welding is form of resistance welding used to join overlapping metal sheets. Two electrodes are used to clamp the sheets together and pass the current between them.Spray: Spray welding is a process where weld material is sprayed onto a workpiece. This process can be used to apply wear and heat resistance coatings and to build up worn areas.Stud: Stud welding is a form of Spot welding where a bolt or weld nut is welded to another metal part. The bolts are often fed automatically into the welder.Submerged Arc: Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) is a welding process in which the arc is struck beneath a layer of flux which increases arc quality and blocks atmospheric contaminants.TIG: Tungsten Inert Gas welding. Also referred to as Gas Tungsten Arc Welding. |
