At Houston Custom Metal Works, our niche specialty is contract manufacturing for one-of-a-kind products. Our engineering capabilities and extensive mix of metalworking skills allow us to design and fabricate unique pieces for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. From custom metal furniture, industrial fixtures, and metal décor for commercial buildings to architectural details and public art, we have the technology and expertise to accommodate distinctive, engaging, and unusual projects of any size or complexity. Customers can come to us with a digital file or just an idea that we can transform into a fully realized 2D design and 3D model. Evaluating digital data and visual renderings helps ensure specifications align with design intent and allow us to fabricate the piece as efficiently as possible. We use the CAD data to optimize material utilization and program our fabrication machinery for precise cutting and shaping. Along with a water jet cutter capable of powering through material measuring up to 4″ thick, our production equipment includes CNC machining centers capable of milling and turning complex shapes to precise dimensions and tolerances. We also operate a series of MIG and TIG welding stations. Materials we primarily work with include aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, brass, and a selection of plastics. Our fabrication team handles all aspects of product assembly, and based on the project’s scope, we coordinate any necessary secondary processes, such as grinding, EDM work, and finishing. Our contract manufacturing services focus on individual items or small lots. We work collaboratively with architects, artists, interior designers, builders, and homeowners to create custom furniture, cabinetry, kitchen fixtures, vent hoods, statement lighting, shelving, signage, etc. Our customers also include industrial designers of fixtures, sub-assemblies, pre-production parts, one-off tools, and more.
