About Product
Our tradition of quality injection molding at Meridian Products Corporation extends back nearly 40 years. Since 1976, we have provided custom molding, prototyping, and mold design services for customers across a broad spectrum of industries. We mold components in a wide variety of dimensions, including miniature, small, large, and multi-component assemblies. Our state-of-the-art facility has molding capabilities that cover a variety of process types and materials, all performed to the highest degrees of accuracy. Some of the molding processes available include insert and over-molding, two-shot molding, in-mold assembly (IMA), and solid molding. We have a deep level of experience with over-molding, and have played an instrumental role in helping customers determine the best methods and materials for their applications, including bearings, medical brace components, and mechanical threaded inserts, among others. Our two-shot molding process allows us to create complex parts with multiple materials, giving customers a high level of versatility in their design. The two-shot process has been used to incorporate different color schemes in products, as well as molds with different performance characteristics for mechanical applications. Our capabilities also include solid molding for parts without hollow cavities, and in-mold assembly, which features an imbedded metal insert to improve the structure and strength of the mold.We can process over 250 different grades of engineering resins for our injection molding. These materials range from ABS, Acrylic, Acetal, LCP, and Nylon to PEEK, PET, PLA, polystyrene, polyurethane, and many others. Most of the time, our resins are processed with unique fillers to fulfill our customers’ specifications. Some of these fillers typically include Teflon and short glass, long glass, and carbon fibers. Our equipment covers a broad range of molding options, including a clamping force that ranges from 55 to 500 tons and a shot size ranging from 3.5 to 68 oz.At Meridian, we have a long history of molding engineered parts with high tolerance requirements. We regularly produce components that include connectors, medical devices, aircraft, electrical, and telecom products, all with tolerances as tight as ±0.005”. For critical inspection of even higher tolerance work, we have in-house vision measuring equipment, allowing us to measure parts out to the 5th decimal. Many different additional services are available as well, including engineering, mold making, assembly, and part decoration, among others. We offer competitive lead times as well, with rush and emergency services available by request. To learn more about our injection molding, please contact us directly.

These machines are usually used to produce larger parts.)In Mold Assembly (IMA) (Allows a metal insert to be embedded in a part in one operation for improved product structure and increased strength.)Solid (A process to manufacture solids parts that do not have any hollow cavities.)Two Shot (Two shot injection molding is the ability to produce complex moldings from two different polymers at the same time during one machine cycle. This has the benefits of creating moldings with more than one color, or with different materials combined in one molding.) |
